Task 1: Game Design Document
Instruction
"Students are required to design and create their own 2D side
scrolling/platformer game. The game design document serves as a
blueprint for their game and will contain all the necessary
information and visual references to develop the game. Sample GDD
will be provided as a reference, but students are expected to
research more on the matter to determine the necessary content items
for their own GDD."
Progression
In week 1, We formed a group of three: Winnie Ho, Lew Guo Ying and myself, with Winnie as the group leader. At the beginning, Winnie was very efficient and proposed a game idea set in ancient Egypt. We all agreed on the concept and continued developing the game proposal together.

FEEDBACK
Week 2:
Dr Mia liked our game idea and story, but noted that the gameplay is quite typical. She advised adding a unique twist, something simple and fun, without making the game too complicated.
REFLECTION
Through this task, I witnessed our group leader Winnie’s initiative and efficiency. By Week 3, she had already completed the proposal. Honestly, I felt a bit guilty for not contributing as much during Task 1, as my role was mainly suggesting unusual or experimental ideas. However, I appreciated the positive team dynamic. We held regular meetings to discuss ideas together, instead of working separately, which helped us stay united as a team.
Through these discussions, we gradually developed a clearer understanding of our game and its direction. I also realised how important communication and collaboration are in group work. Even though not every idea was used, having the space to explore different possibilities helped shape the final concept.
